Dollhouse Takes Up Residence in the Whedon-verse The verdict is still out on whether Dollhouse can stand the test of time. We think it oughta, if only because of our sick obsession with all things Joss Whedon. Our very own Zach Oat takes on the task of breaking down each major Dollhouse character and charting his/her traits to come up with other Whedon-made counterparts from Buffy and Firefly. Because, you see, everything is connected in the Whedon-verse. Is Echo 2009's answer to Buffy Summers? You be the judge after consulting with our Dollhouse: Do These Characters Seem Familiar To You? gallery. And by all means, pitch in with your own comparisons. This is a democracy, after all.
Demystifying The Highly Complex A-List Awards

Wheeee! It's A-List Awards voting time again! As you might recall from last year, Bravo's one and only award show (known to TWOPpers as the Bravo Prom) is the premiere show in which things I actually care about get nominated and awarded. We're talking categories like Chef Who Does The Awesomest Things With Pork Products (a.k.a. A-List Chef) and -- literally -- A-List Kate, which is described as an award "Given to the Kate with the mostest" featuring nominees from Kate Moss to Katy Perry to Mary-Kate Olsen (yeah I guess they're pretty loose with their acceptance criteria). In sum: Best. Awards. Show. Ever. And as always, it's going to be hosted by everyone's favorite trash-talkin' redhead, Kathy Griffin. This fabulous beeswax will film April 5, but you can cast your vote now if you go to this place here. You've got 'till March 31. Conflicted about who to vote for? After the jump are the categories and nominees, along with my annotated picks. Because I love you.

Real Insanity

by Lauren Gitlin February 13, 2009 1:37 PM
Real Insanity I admit it: I'm fully stoked about the return of the comparatively civilized ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City. So much so that I've taken to talking like Spicoli from Fast Times At Ridgemont High. And to get myself amped for the premiere of Season Two next week, I pulled the most memorable moments from the first season and got positively teary-eyed remembering their high-falutin' hijinks. To quote Lost Boyz, it's "lifestyles of the rich and shameless," featuring fashion shows, tennis death matches and extreme Speedo close-ups. Soooo elegant! Get the low-down on my picks and let me know your favorite moments with Gotham's moneyed MILFs.
Gossip Girl: Interpol's Most Wanted List Those Gossip Girl kids are dangerous! No, really! And our own GG expert Lauren G. has compiled a very official list of criminal dossiers on each and every one, plus their parents and other known accomplices (hi, Dorota!). Read the dossiers here, and remember: If you see something, say something. In the comments, I mean. Don't go reporting this gallery to Homeland Security; they'll just laugh at you. XOXO!
They say it's an honor just to be nominated, but we all know that's not true. So while we're thrilled that TWoP has once again been selected as one of the five best entertainment blogs by the Bloggies, a.k.a. the Weblog Awards, we're also selfish enough to want to win this sucker for the second consecutive year. And unlike the Oscars, Emmys and Golden Globes, whose prizes are closed to public influence, the Bloggies want real people to pick their favorites -- go figure. TWoP is up against some stiff competition from Best Week Ever, TVgasm, /film and Vulture, so we can use all the help we can get. If you dig what we do (and hey, why else are you even reading this?) and have a few minutes to spare, consider casting a vote for us at the official Bloggies site. There are plenty of great blogs from around the world nominated in a slew of other categories, so show them a little love while you're in the neighborhood, too. Voting closes on Monday, February 2.

We Call B.S. On 24

by Lauren Gitlin January 23, 2009 11:20 AM
We Call B.S. On 24 Sure, TV requires a goodly amount of suspension of disbelief. (Who here remembers ALF?) But the 24 writers are reeeeeaaaaaally pushing it, as per usual. Even for them. Marwan steals a stealth fighter and shoots down Air Force One, and the president survives? I mean really? Our very own Mindy Monez calls the show out on ten of its most ridiculous plots from past seasons in her 24: Most Ludicrous Moments gallery. Read 'em, add your faves and snort with disbelief along with us.

Woo-Hoo! The Real Housewives of Orange County Are So Memorable! Wow, we're really all Real Housewives of Orange County, all the time up in here today! You are so welcome! (Nailed it.) It's hard to deny that the show is a great, if eyeball-gouge-worthy guilty pleasure, and our own Lauren Gitlin has combed through each episode of the ridiculous, rich a-hole drivel and compiled the most memorable moments in O.C. Housewives history for your reading enjoyment. Read on, and leave your personal favorite moments in the comments below. Tamra bashing in particular is always welcome, as far as I'm concerned.

Suck It, Haters!: Tina Fey Edition You guys prolly saw Tina Fey's rad Golden Globes acceptance speech Sunday night in which she called out internet haters by name. (You didn't? Well let me just embed that clip for you then, mkah?)

Go Behind the Horn-Rimmed Glasses!

If you haven't seen it yet, we've launched a brand new blog... and it's a good one! (Not that we're biased or anything like that... never!) Jack Coleman, who plays the mysterious and awesome Noah Bennett (but he'll always be H.R.G. to us) on Heroes, is going to post weekly after episodes have aired, dish behind-the-scenes stuff and give us his insider take on what's happening on the show. So check out the first installment to get yourself psyched up for the season premiere next week (I've seen the first hour and it's pretty kick ass, even though they haven't killed off Maya yet... sadly.) And check back next Tuesday after the two-hour premiere airs to see what info Coleman's going to be doling out.
