I was a bit concerned last week that my beloved Amy Farrah Fowler might earn this title every week, thereby making it like those sad Employee of the Month boards at the supermarket where one overachiever gets everything and then they throw a bone to some poor lowly bagger every once and a while so that their mom can be proud. But last night, Howard Wolowitz stepped up to the plate from the outset and carried this episode on his narrow, tackily clad shoulders. It was a great improvement from last week when he made me want to vomit by discussing his mother's bowel movements. I was impressed by his sign-language skills, the way he tried to dissuade Raj from overeating by telling him that he'd have his own bazongas if he kept up his insane intake, the fact that he was a fantastic wingman and that he had all of the best lines. Here are my favorites:

What makes Big Bang Theory so entertaining is its solid ensemble, but there's always someone that burns more brightly than those around them. This week, that person was Amy Farrah Fowler. Howard and Bernadette spent the episode playing house with his mother and making our skin crawl, Raj was basically a chauffeur, Sheldon was a child playing with tiny trains (even ridiculously sticking one in his mouth) and Leonard was tediously dull, unless Amy was around to make him more interesting. Here are the five reasons Amy is our Big Bang Supernova of the Week. We swear we weren't just won over by her beckoning pelvis.

With Fringe planning a musical-themed scene in an upcoming episode (we're mostly excited because Michael Cerveris is an awesome Broadway performer), the recent addition of musical numbers to shows like How I Met Your Mother, the cover tunes performed by Jeffster! on Chuck and, naturally, all things Glee, we started thinking about how other scripted series could get their characters singing. While there are some shows that could never pull characters breaking into song (24, for instance), here's who we think could carry a tune.

Of all the network upfronts each May, CBS' is the one I usually dread sitting through the most simply because it always kicks off with president and CEO Les Moonves both arrogantly crowing about yet another year as the highest-rated network overall ("more Americans watched NCIS this season than went to see Avatar") and trying to convince the audience of advertisers and journalists that everything is just hunky dory in the broadcast biz. But other than his spiel and an awkward but well-intentioned bit by Jim Parsons in character as Sheldon Cooper (something about how he'd use a time machine to go back to NBC's 1969 upfront to convince advertisers to invest in the original Star Trek), the rest of CBS' 2010-11 presentation cruised by fairly painlessly, despite a few clunkers in their new lineup.

There is so much news today, and I didn't even talk about how there's a Jersey Shore book or a fourth Austin Powers movie!

A much-anticipated show is moving up to a closer date, former stars get their jobs back, and a head honcho disses a famous star. That's the dish on the real-world TV news, but in the teeny-bopper realm, it's about Twilight, Twilight and more Twilight. Gag.

BOOM! It's a veritable explosion of TV on DVD this week, as even more of my favorite shows hit the home market. And while I understand the timing is fully intentional, I still wish they'd release these sets earlier, because now I can't possibly re-watch them all before the new seasons start up. Damn you, cross-promotional marketing! You too, new Golden Age of Television!

Torchwood! Wonder Woman! Glee! Doctor Who! Broadway! Nerd alert!

It's a strange news day to be sure, but one thing is certain: MTV is happy they don't have to make a token effort to play music anymore now that they've ditched that part of their logo.
