I'm attributing all of today's exciting stories to the horrible rainstorms we just had in New York City over the weekend... Seriously, the water washed in more news than ever. You hear that, Gleeks? Time to start thanking the precipitation gods!

Stuntcasting: most of the time it's an evil force to be mocked and complained about, but on rare occasions, it can actually be brilliant, and breathe new life into shows. It doesn't happen very often, but this past fall was particularly good to us in that respect. Here are the top 10 instances in which some of our favorite shows actually chose their guest stars wisely -- and gave them something compelling to do -- this past fall.

Judging Fictional Strangers, Shows Nobody Cares About Anymore Except Us
Curb Your Enthusiasm: Back, and More Disturbingly Wrong Than EverI'm going to be up front and admit that it has been a while since I regularly watched Curb Your Enthusiasm. I sort of lost interest around the time that Larry and Cheryl's relationship fell apart. However, the promise of a Seinfeld reunion this season suckered me back in. I know the Seinfeld cast spot doesn't happen for a few episodes, but figured it was worth watching from the start of this season, and I'm so delighted that I did. The first episode, in which Larry tries unsuccessfully to break up with his girlfriend Loretta (Vivica A. Fox) before her cancer diagnosis comes in, had me in stitches. I was completely reminded of what I liked about this show in the first place. Apparently, absence did make my heart grow fonder.

There is soon to be very little in the way of you living your life looking exactly like Vicki Gunvalson.

In today's TWoP news, the glass is half-full of renewals, good ratings, and Laurence Fishburne.

Today we get some blasts from the past with a Seinfeld reunion and Amy Poehler's return to SNL, and a look towards the future with a video game based on The Bachelor. It's enough to make anyone nostalgic.

In 1987, a crack TV show was cancelled due to falling ratings over which they had no control. This show promptly escaped to the Los Angeles underground and spent the next 20 years building nostalgia through strategically placed pop culture references. Today, still wanted by fans of the show, they survive as a DVD boxed set. If you have a DVD player, if no other show will do the trick and if you can find it in Best Buy, maybe you can buy... The A-Team.

Honestly, I have a love/hate relationship with reunion shows. Part of me is so excited with anticipation to see what my beloved characters are up to now, but there is always such a letdown when it just isn't the same as it used to be. So I was more than a little skeptical about this pseudo-Seinfeld reunion on Curb Your Enthusiasm. However, this show just really nailed it. Having the stars playing "themselves" talking about their characters was sort of this trippy meta thing that really worked out better than I ever could have expected. I was practically giddy when they all wound up in the same room together at the end.
