Cool Stuff We Need, Everything's Better With Music, Reading: It's Fundamental
Seven Things We Didn't Know About Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along BlogIt's been almost three years, but we still can't stop thinking about Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Joss Whedon's groundbreaking musical supervillain web series. Granted, that may be partially because Whedon's follow-up, Dollhouse, failed to set the world on fire, but Horrible was still unlike anything we'd seen before, and had great performances from Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion in the lead roles. A book about the show, complete with scripts and sheet music, hit stores today, and we snagged ourselves a copy, only to find a plethora of factoids that delighted our Horribleness-craving eyes. They're not earth-shakers, like that the series was filmed in Esperanto and dubbed into English or anything, but they're fun and cute, just like the show itself. Read on, for seven of the most Hammertastic.

I find today's TWoP News to be very... erotic. Too early to say "sexiest TWoP News ever"? Probably, right?

As long as Joss Whedon TV series are getting unceremoniously canceled (so, forever), there will always be comic book sequels to supply a much-needed fix. And while we're sure a Dollhouse comic will be a necessity in the future, in the meantime, you can enjoy more Dr. Horrible. Plus, what movie star is Jack Donaghy making out with now?

The American Idol producers are as dumb as we assumed, and Paris Hilton is still trying to act, but there's going to be more Dr. Horrible!

Welcome to TWoP's live-blogging of the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards! Tonight, Neil Patrick Harris is our host, and we're quivering in anticipation for some kind of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog reunion and performance.
8:00 -- Television gets a special tribute from a 1950s voiceover announcer, who mocks what TV has brought us -- Aretha Franklin's hat, ABC's Wipeout -- then scopes out the red carpet before introducing NPH. Musical number! In a white tux jacket, NPH tells us to put down the remote and watch the show. We get a joke about Paula Abdul, and a joke about how Christina Hendricks would turn a gay man straight, if only Jon Hamm didn't exist. Pretty funny stuff, and an impressive rattling off of nearly every nominated network. On to the show!

This past weekend the Emmys handed out a large bulk of their awards during the Creative Arts ceremony, aka the Schmemmys (thank you, Kathy Griffin!). She was on hand to host the night, which means that they must have forgiven her for her "Suck it, Jesus" acceptance speech a few years back. Anyway, while I'm sort of dreading the predictability that is likely to unfold Sunday evening, at least the Creative Arts had a few pleasant surprises. Read on for the highlights.

Are there vampire hoarders? We imagine most vampires don't have houses full of stuff, since they keep moving from town to town to find their next unsuspecting populace. But if there were, it'd probably be pretty dangerous, knowing that somewhere in that mound of half-empty plasma bags and dirty capes is a loaded crossbow, just waiting to go off.

I couldn't actually bring myself to watch the People's Choice Awards last night. There is only so much Adam Sandler a girl can take and the incessant commercials for Bedtime Stories have more than fulfilled my quota for the year. Any award show that even has Worst Week in the running for Best New Comedy is no good in my book. I don't care if there weren't that many to choose from this year. Gary Unmarried won, if you care... which I don't. Besides, I was too busy distracting myself with the horror show that was 13: Fear Is Real, which in retrospect was probably worse than sitting through a few minutes of Adam Sandler schtick.
