I would say the round up of news is pretty heavy with drama for a Wednesday. Here we have a spy thriller on the rise, the potential downfall of a marriage, and a conservative housewife turned cougar. Things are looking up to what I thought would be a boring mid-week day.

Brothers & Sisters is a deeply flawed show, what with its dropped decent plot points, unkillable bad plot points, and frequent inability to move forward, but it's long been one of my favorite guilty pleasures for its cast and loud, dysfunctional (sometimes food) fights. And last night, we got a pretty great episode, actually, all things considered. There was the welcomed end to Rebecca and Justin's baby storyline, the extremely welcomed end of the Holly-selling-her-Ojai-shares-to-a-Walker-hater storyline and an actually believable and mature conclusion of a relationship (a real rarity on this show) with Sarah and Roy realizing that they're not right for each other. But most importantly, we also got Gilles Marini back. The cheesy, wonderfully soapy, romance novel of a plot that is the Gilles Marini and Sarah Walker love affair.

Last night, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson took home the ugly mirrorball trophy for her efforts this season on Dancing With the Stars, but her co-finalists, Melissa Rycroft (of dumped by The Bachelor fame) and Gilles Marini (of taking off all his clothes in Sex and the City fame) were clearly the stronger dancers. Johnson has grown into a moderately better dancer throughout the course of the show, but aside from her fun freestyle on Monday night, she didn't really have the flair that the other two competitors did. There was a lack of elegance and style, and she always had a pained look on her face, or a plastered-on faux smile. Due to her young age (or her sheltered life as a young athlete), she was also missing the flirty sexiness needed during the Latin dances. Though I've been to my share of high school dances and bar mitzvahs and there are plenty of 17-year-old girls who can bring on the sexy when they want to.. or just whenever.
