It's Friday the 13th, and things are amiss in television land. The TV gods are toiling with things that should be left alone, and John Harvard is rolling over in his nearly 400-year-old grave.

At first, the news that ABC would be remaking Charlie's Angels made me roll my eyes in annoyance at yet another remake, as I'm sure it caused most people to do, but after looking closer at the story, I kind of think it could be fun. Josh Friedman, former showrunner of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is writing and executive producing this remake as well, and he's actually a very smart guy, and a good writer, despite Terminator's storytelling missteps. At the very least, he writes women well, and as long he doesn't fall into the traps of turning Charlie's Angels into a character melodrama, as Fox's Terminator budget cuts forced him to on that show, this could be the kick-ass, female-driven, addictive series that Dollhouse was supposed to be, if they're careful, and if they cast it right. I can't write the scripts for them, but I can tell you who has Angel potential and who is Olivia Wilde (for example). Here are our Charlie's Angels casting hopes and dreams.

Here's a new one: a Japanese arrest warrant has been issued for Hayden Panettiere over her efforts to prevent the slaughter of a pod of dolphins by fishermen. I realize this sounds like the sort of douchey dilletantism that seems to mark most celebrity activism. But if you watch the video of the protest, it's pretty clear she's not just dicking around with this. I have to think it would be impossible to witness what she did and not be affected by it, though. And despite the arrest warrant, I feel pretty confident she won't do any time on this.

Upon hearing the news that Hayden Panettiere was putting out a single, the first thought was, oh god not another one. We're wary of Hayden treading down the path that so many have misguidedly gone down before. Hayden's known for her lead role on the hit show Heroes, where she is praised for her acting talent. So why ruin her already strong reputation as an actress, with the debut of a solo CD.

NBC has released a trailer for the next season of Heroes, which will hopefully be like Lost's last season - a year spent fixing and making up for all the storytelling mistakes made in the past, so we can all get on with our lives already. Fortunately Heroes only has one weak season's worth of mistakes to come back from, so outlook is good!
This show may be a shameless X-Men rip-off, but it has so much potential (that was squandered last year), that I truly hope it gets back on track. That being said, the trailer concludes with some sexy bad girl version of Claire shooting Peter with an "I always loved you" line, which is the cheesiest thing I've seen since Hayden's Paris Hilton impression. But we'll see, maybe it's really awesome in context.
Peep the trailer after the jump.
