For some reason, the news today has made my little movie-and-comic-book-nerd heart grow three sizes.
James Marsters knows what he likes, and he knows what people like to see him in. From Buffy to Angel to Smallville to Torchwood, he's made legendary appearances on some of the greatest science-fiction and fantasy shows of the past decade, and he's about to start yet another. Marsters will tackle the role of religious fanatic Barnabas, the man behind the Caprica bombings for a multi-episode run on Syfy's new series Caprica. Never ones to turn down talking to Spike, we sat in on a conference call to ask him about his character, whether he'll return to Torchwood or the Buffyverse, and what he thinks of all these new vampires running around.
Shaq does something awesome (as usual), and Jeffrey Donovan does something very not awesome (unusual!), but at least James Marsters is in a space suit.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! Sadly, it's not entirely joyful for us at the TWoP office, because we are right next to the insanely loud NYC parade and it has been going on all day. I'd be having a meltdown if it wasn't for such a good Lost episode last night. Love you, Sawyer.
It's all about the casting news this week, as three of our favorite actors joined shows this week, a couple of scary dudes were give their own shows, and a couple of very high-profile celebrities signed on to appear on two of our favorite reality shows. You want names? We got names after the jump.
Still reeling from the mind-blowing Torchwood finale? Can't wait for new episodes? Yeah, me either. I tried to console myself with Torchwood: The Official Magazine Yearbook, but it was like sticking a band-aid on a gaping wound. Don't get me wrong, it was very well thought-out and well put-together and filled with gorgeous pictures of the dreamy Capt. Jack, but it's not quite as good as an episode.
