Love her or hate her, Jillian Michaels can scare an obese person thin like nobody else on weight loss television, and now she is taking her game to people's homes in Losing It with Jillian. In anticipation for Tuesday's premiere, Dr. Phillian herself participated in a media call to discuss the new show, how she hopes it will repair her crazy, screaming image, how she used to be fat, and how the show is more realistic than The Biggest Loser. Read on for highlights.
It's a sad day for Elliot Stabler fans.
Jillian Michaels is a polarizing figure when she's just a supporting character on The Biggest Loser, so I imagine people are simply exploding with opinions over her starring turn in Losing It with Jillian. I'm not particularly interested in breaking down in detail what's healthy and what's bullshit about her training approach (this isn't a fitness blog), but there is a lot to say about the show. The premiere was interesting, at least, and it's rare that I can say that about a summer show.
Why on earth would I watch The Biggest Loser any more?
Disclaimer: Today's TWoP news is riddled with a moderately high dose of OMG moments. Those other than rabid fangirls should click at their own risk. Or skip down to that sophisticated stuff about the Emmys, football, drugs, and other American staples.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! Sadly, it's not entirely joyful for us at the TWoP office, because we are right next to the insanely loud NYC parade and it has been going on all day. I'd be having a meltdown if it wasn't for such a good Lost episode last night. Love you, Sawyer.
The winner of Big Brother 9 is an idiot.
Jillian Harris is writing a book. I have never wished for illiteracy so desperately in my entire life.
