Sure, carolers suck, but what if they were doing a mash-up of Lady Gaga, Bing Crosby and Madonna? Nog for everybody!
Yet another Kardashian reality show spin-off and yet another rumor about a couple big name actresses having cameos on Glee. Same TV news stories, different day...
Lots of money is being thrown around, a new religion drama series is in the works and a former McDonalds "fan" is directing a Simpsons tribute. It can't get anymore random than that. Anyway, meet the "45-Million-Dollar Man" and read about the possibility of a Jackson family reality show.
As you've no doubt heard by now, Michael Jackson has died. And while he wasn't really a television star, he was pretty much the biggest celebrity on the planet, and did rule the music video landscape for a while, and it just felt weird not to pay any tribute to him on the site. So, we decided to round up a few television stars' Twitter responses to the sudden loss and either praise or make fun of them (usually with typos). A stretch, we know, but grief makes you do crazy things. Tell 'em that it's Human Nature. (I'm so sorry.)
Well, to be honest, I had all these great things to say about the Michael Jackson memorial, but then the sight of his young daughter sobbing into a microphone just completely knocked the snark out of me. Honestly, that poor kid. My god. It's going to take me a while to get over that. But the blog must go on! And since this was the biggest televised event in the history of televised events, let's run down some of the highlights and lowlights of Hollywood's tribute to the biggest star the world has ever known.
Last night they finally did the big much-hyped tribute to Michael Jackson on Dancing With the Stars, presumably to also promote the fact that there is a movie about him coming out. Don't even try and tell me that it was just coincidence. Anyway, Latoya came out to introduce the segment and other members of the family were on hand, so presumably they gave their stamp of approval to this, but it was far from the grand spectacle I was hoping for.
A movie star jumps to TV, a TV star jumps to a different show, a former child star jumps ship and ski jumps get their own network. It's today's TWoP news! ...After the jump, of course.
It's a bright, sunny day in New York City. As I'm typing this, the sunlight is streaming through the window, and I can hear the crowd of tourists bustling down below--all a mockery of today's news, which consists of death, sadness and more death. If you can get past the depressing start, things will look up, because there's some regular TV news.
