Good news, everyone! A show has been canceled and un-canceled, another has been re-titled, another remade, and a book adapted! That last one might not be such good news, but we remain ever optimistic! O frabjous day! Callooh callay!

Only a few more weeks before the bulk of last season's TV shows are out on DVD! Only a few more years before every TV show that was ever made is out, as well! So where's The Wizard? Don't make me write letters!

If you were like me, you saw that BBC America was bringing over a show called Primeval, and said, "Wasn't that that movie about a giant crocodile starring Orlando Jones?" Well, in Britain, they were either blissful unaware of that film, or they felt that a crummy movie should not have the right to bogart an awesome title, because a month after the movie was inflicted on American audiences, UK viewers got a much better Primeval, in the form of an hour-long sci-fi drama in the vein of X-Files, Angel and Stargate SG-1. And with a new episode premiering this Saturday, followed by a mini-marathon on Sunday, I wanted to get the word out that there is nary an Orlando Jones in sight.

Irrational Exuberance, Let's Go to the Video, Skimming Across the Pond
I Sing the Season Finale of PrimevalFans of dinosaurs, Scottish accents and pixyish female members of S Club 7 walking around in their underwear have likely already discovered Primeval on BBC America. The Brit import features oversized bugs and reptiles from not only the past, but the future, as well -- all transported here via mysterious time portals to menace the general populace of England. (Yes, just England. If Torchwood can take place entirely in Cardiff, this show can limit itself to one island.) If you haven't been watching it, then you may not be aware that the first U.S. season (technically, the second British series, but since British series are only six or seven episodes long, BBC America combined them) ends Saturday night at 9:00, and it should be pretty awesome. After all, Episode 6 (the first British series' finale) featured the show's first futuristic predator, and ended with the main character changing history and turning his sensible love interest into a tarted-up tramp... which may or may not have been on purpose, now that we think about it. Check out a teaser clip of the finale after the jump.
