I'm not feeling too great about today's news. A lot of it's unsettling. I did find a sort of cool video with Ian McKellen in it, but that just doesn't make up for the rest. I mean, someone's giving Octomom a show, and that's not even the worst thing I read today. Click to accompany my misery.
After the brutal early reviews of this new AMC series, I expected The Prisoner premiere to feel like something akin to the time I had to watch nine consecutive hours of the Real Housewives of Atlanta for work, but condensed, maximized and worse. But I don't know -- perhaps it's a testament to going into something with the lowest expectations possible, but dare I say I kind of enjoyed the two-hour episode? I don't think it's nearly as bad as it's being made out to be.
Good news, everyone! A show has been canceled and un-canceled, another has been re-titled, another remade, and a book adapted! That last one might not be such good news, but we remain ever optimistic! O frabjous day! Callooh callay!
It's too bad The Prisoner and The Fugitive never crossed over. Or The Guardian and The Mentalist, for that matter. They could have all worked in The Office! It sounds like a Tales from the Darkside episode waiting to happen. Coincidentally, many of those series came out on DVD this week.
