Hollywood To TWoP: Hello There!
Conan O'Brien Takes on The Tonight Show, Wrestles Rattlesnakes, Solves Crimes, Etc.Conan takes over the Tonight Show on Monday (with an unofficial torch-passing ceremony on tonight's episode), and everyone's very nervous about how it will go, if too much Jay Leno will ruin everything, and if and how much Conesy will have to dumb down his material to satisfy the earlier crowd. Everyone, that is, except Conan himself, who recently participated in a media call to pretty much calm everyone down. And to talk about Murder, She Wrote. You'll see.

Today's TV news contains two types of surprises: "pleasant" and "not really pleasant but makes me happy anyway." I'm not sure which I prefer at this point.

Can't They Just Leave Well Enough Alone?, Let's Go to the Video
Conan Has a Right to Be Angry, But He's Also Being Kind of a CrybabyIt was refreshing last Friday when Conan addressed the late night disaster he was embroiled in on his (for now) show with some pointed barbs at NBC. Then on Tuesday, he issued a strongly worded and heartfelt letter to the citizens of Earth about the harm he felt the network was doing to the franchise he loves, and to him personally, and it only strengthened his cause. But is it just me, or has he kind of been acting like a bitch since then?

Can you believe the series finale of Ugly Betty is tonight? Be sure to brace yourself for some tears! Get it? You get it.

Because today is officially the slowest entertainment news day in the history of entertainment (I'm including original productions of Medea here), I've decided to report some Jimmy Fallon news. I'd really appreciate it if you could pretend to care. As we all know, the SNL alum is poised to take Conan's Late Night job when he leaves to take over The Tonight Show next year. What you don't know is that, at the urging of executive producer Lorne Michaels, Jimmy will be testing out his shtick online first, with five to ten minute online minisodes that will start rolling out six months before he officially takes over the job. I know, please take breaks in between forwarding this riveting information to everyone on the planet. You could injure yourself.
