With another regular television season coming to a close just in time for the Memorial Day weekend, we'd like to hold a memorial of our own for all of the characters and other elements that we'll miss the most from this year's ridiculously robust round of cancelled and concluded shows. Important note, however: This list is just about shows from the 2010-2011 season, so no putting, like, Firefly people or whatever in the comments, please. We know you'll want to, but just try to resist.

It's that time of year when we honor all that mothers do for their children. Though in the case of the television personalities below, being a good mom consists of pimping out your kids or hitting them with an actual hammer. Yes, these are some really special women. So happy Mother's Day and be grateful that these women didn't give birth to you.

AMC recently cancelled the glacially paced Rubicon, but at least their new show The Walking Dead is off to a great start, with ratings that dwarf anything in the network's history (not to mention plenty of shows on bigger channels). Perhaps if they'd tossed a few undead characters on to Rubicon, it would have gotten a second-season pickup. In fact, almost any program could benefit from an infusion of zombies. Here's our wish list:

The relaunch of the alien invasion drama V on ABC has brought together an exciting group of our favorite TV actors: Lost's Elizabeth Mitchell as a Homeland Security agent, Firefly's Alan Tudyk as her partner, his former co-star Morena Baccarin as head alien Anna and Smallville's Laura Vandervoort as an alien tour guide. But one of the most familiar faces on the show is undoubtedly Scott Wolf, who played Bailey for six seasons on Party of Five, and has more recently appeared on Everwood and The Nine. On V, Wolf plays Chad Decker, a TV reporter who is allowed to interview the aliens as long as he paints them in a positive light. We sat down for a one-on-one with Wolf (making no promises, mind you) to talk about his character's moral flexibility, the reality of alien invasions and why he's ready for this show to fail miserably.
