Poor Joey Fatone (who I still call Fat-One... can't help it. Old habits die hard). Seriously, his career hasn't sunk quite as far as another Dancing With the Stars alum, Joey Lawrence (who is hosting the hideously awful Master of Dance), but the ex-N'Syncer is getting pretty damned close by acting as the ringmaster on Celebrity Circus. The highlight of the entire first episode was him being hung up by one foot and dangled from the Spanish web without a net. The "celebrities" in question are well, questionable. When your biggest stars are Wee-Man and Antonio Sabato Jr., you should probably be worried about the future of the series.
From the makers of Paris Hilton's New BFF, VH1 brings you... an untitled matchmaking show starring Antonio Sabato, Jr. looking for love! The "Fantasy Man" (VH1's words, not mine) isn't looking for much; he just wants a woman who can skydive in an evening gown or re-create steamy love scenes in a soap opera fashion. Which isn't too much to ask, really, it's just terribly specific. I can totally see why he's had so much trouble finding this in the private sector. The show will be filmed like a soap opera, (somehow), with all of the challenges (including the two listed above), based entirely on soap opera conventions. Why all the soaps mania on this show? Because Antonio Sabato, Jr. used to be on General Hospital, that's why. Now, I hate these shows as much as the next person, but that premise is hysterical. What if all actors based their relationship expectations on their previous roles? I'd sure pity the poor bastard who tries to date Rutger Hauer. Which means only one thing -- it's totally time for more TWoP casting suggestions!
So it's not a big secret that my biggest guilty pleasure is Rock of Love. It's not just the insanely over the top drunken antics and really slutty girls that make this show so addictive, but it is also Bret himself. There's something oddly intriguing about the way he makes every girl, no matter if she's just puked her brains out or has spent the evening curled up with speed bump, feel like she's special. He's sort of a sweetheart underneath the fake hair, the gross bandanna and the rocker image. I was hoping that Antonio Sabato Jr.'s new show My Antonio would be similar to Rock of Love and fill that disease ridden void in my TV diet, but alas, it doesn't measure up. I worked up this little side-by-side comparison to prove my point.
