ABC is looking to make a lot of people happy this Valentine's Day
I have been really surprised by how fast I got addicted to In Treatment. Normally, my administration has had a strict policy against primetime shows that require you to commit to watching on multiple nights a week (American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, Big Brother except when I'm getting paid for it), but In Treatment has a couple of advantages: (a) being on HBO; (b) being on during a writers' strike. And it's also pretty good.
Fine. I'll admit it. I watched some of Celebrity Rehab. But I'm not proud of that fact. It actually kind of made me depressed more than anything. And now, according to the New York Post they are considering taking these already whacked out celebrities from Rehab season 1, who are using their issues to cling to some scrap of fame, and putting them in a new show called Sober Living. Great. Just great. I mean, I'm all for the idea of these C-listers getting clean and getting on with their lives, but watching them in Surreal Life surroundings is something I don't need to see. This could be such a vicious circle. Drink or do drugs. Go to rehab. Say hi to Dr. Drew. Ditch bad habits. Go to rehab. Try and reclaim career. Realize no one cares about you if you aren't behaving badly. Go back to rehab. Repeat.
