Really Ridiculous Reality Shows, The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV
The Most Heinous Person on Reality TV This WeekThe Real World debuted this week, but while Frank has already begun earning his way on the list, we've got a hunch he's going to be far more atrocious as the season progresses than he was in the season premiere. Aim high, dude.

Looks like Simon Cowell isn't the master judge he thought he was.

Hollywood To TWoP: Hello There!, They Answer, We Ask
Simon Cowell Pumps Up X Factor, Disses Idol and The VoiceHave you heard of The X Factor? It's kinda supposed to be like the old American Idol, but better and with more Pepsi commercials in the middle of each episode? In the off-chance the media blitz hasn't found you in your cave, judge Simon Cowell took a press call to answer the burning questions that we lowly Americans have about his new series (debuting tonight on Fox) and even took the time to trash a few of his competitors.

Ugly Betty seems to be taking over today, but a few gems managed to shine through, like an awesomely new graphic-novel-turned-series about zombies as well as the greenlight for lots of scripted shows from an unexpected network.

Simon Cowell has no rules in life (well, except for the kind of T-shirts he wears), so why should his show?

Everything's Better With Music, Really Ridiculous Reality Shows
The X Factor = American Idol + America's Got Talent + Any Dream Will DoAfter you've gotten over the shock of Simon Cowell leaving American Idol after this season (for real this time!), you may begin to wonder what the hell The X Factor is and how it's any different than Idol and if you should actually care about it. The answer is: sure. Without Cowell and Paula Abdul, Idol is going to be painful to watch, but X Factor offers some interesting features that Idol currently doesn't, which might actually result in a higher quality of talent coming out it. This basically means that instead of people voting based on cuteness, we might actually get some real vocalists, in the vein of former UK X Factor winner Leona Lewis.

Today we learn some valuable life lessons. Always pay your taxes if you want to be on reality TV. Families that perform together, stay together. And don't let your children watch TV if they have bad teeth.

Remakes are all the rage in the news today with talks of a new Saturday Night Fever (take one guess at who's the prime candidate for a new Tony Manero) and a film adaptation of the 1980s series The A-Team. Can't anyone think of new material these days? Even TBS is considering taking up My Name Is Earl. Read on -- it's not all that bad.

It's almost not fair for Fox to hold their Upfront presentation the same day as NBC's. The difference between the networks is night and day, with Fox premiering a handful of huge, splashy new shows while boasting their many existing hits and 7-years-at-number-one track record, while NBC is trying to bounce back from a completely failed 2010 programming slate with an entirely new one and only one certified ratings hit in The Voice. So, even though quite a few of Fox's new shows look abysmal, I really can't feel too sorry for them. Let's take a look at what's new.
