Reality announcements, cast reunions and overdone pilot ideas are today's big stories.
Nine times out of ten, the original is better than the remake, so why not stock up on classic versions of Zorro, Doctor Who, Mission: Impossible, Edge of Darkness and 30 Rock? ...Wait, 30 Rock is a remake of Fraggle Rock, right?
With two recent surprise deaths (R.I.P., Derek and Kutner), we were inspired to look back at some others that caught us off-guard in the same way. We're not talking J.R. Ewing (who lived, anyway) back in the day, or even Adriana on The Sopranos -- these are the recent out-of-left-field deaths that surprised us so much we had our jaws hanging on the floor. In some cases (Prison Break, 24 and Lost) we could practically have created 10 "wow" deaths from each show, that's how much they like blindsiding fans. (Not nice, for the record.) But we decided to spread the wealth as we present our list of the most shocking deaths of the last few seasons. Fair warning: There might be info that some of you may consider spoilers, if you aren't caught up on your TV viewing.
The Office teased us with the idea of a spinoff and then pulled the rug out from under us. We were so hoping it would involve the Intercourse, PA branch and have guest spots with Tobey (speaking of which, did you see that real-life Tobey got married recently? Mazel Tov!) and someone even weirder than Dwight. But alas, we're getting a new show with Amy Poehler from the people who made the U.S. version of The Office that really has nothing to do with The Office. Here's our wish list of shows that should get spinoffs, and some ideas for the writers... in case they're still struggling from writers' strike lag.
