I don't hate Prison Break. Far from it. I kind of love it for its utterly nonsensical ways and for the way it allows me to scream at my TV on a weekly basis. It sure gives me plenty to rant about. But if it ended, I wouldn't be all up in arms. Momentarily mourning the loss? Sure, but devastated so much that I needed to start sending little nail files to Fox? Not really. I might even send them a thank you card.
See, I've been trying unsuccessfully to break up with this show for three seasons now (I actually really enjoyed watching it the first season). Each time I think I'm out, they keep pullin' me back in. They bring back a dead character (freakin' stabbed old crazy cat man Westmoreland is supposed to return next), they cast someone I like on the show, William Fichtner does something totally crazy. And then I'm hooked again. If Fox decides to put this show out of its low-rated misery, it will make it easier for me to cut the cord. Because I think once it is out of sight, it will be out of mind.
It isn't confirmed, and it seems like even if this is the end of its run they'll wrap it up nicely with a movie or two instead of just pulling it off the shelf and leaving us who are still watching hanging. And maybe, just maybe if it survives long enough on Friday nights, next fall Dollhouse could get PB's plum Monday night spot.
Your thoughts? Is it time for Lincoln, Michael and T-Bag to call it a day? Should they all finally get away? Let us know.
