Poor Paula, she was devastated to learn that networks typically don't keep their lowest rated shows.
Unlike just about everyone else, Paula Abdul is shocked that her show Live to Dance probably won't be renewed. I mean, really, how can you see this coming when your show keeps losing viewers and is the lowest rated show on your network. Maybe she didn't realize that CBS wasn't like most other networks and actually likes people to watch it. She may be sad about it, but for the rest of us it means that she might be more willing to say yes if Simon Cowell asks her to show up on The X Factor.
Considering the success of their scripted drama Army Wives Lifetime is making a reality show sort of like it. Coming Home will focus on several soldiers and their reconnections with their families after serving overseas. It looks like they are going for uplifting, so unfortunately it doesn't look like there will be many soldiers coming home after two years to a newborn baby.
Chelsea Handler's autobiography is getting made into an NBC comedy, but Handler will be played by Laura Prepon. Yeah, they probably wanted someone younger to play Young Chelsea, since the book is about her wild 20-something years, but why didn't they get a 20-something?
More awesome casting news for Sarah Michelle Gellar's The Ringer. Mr. Fantastic himself, Ioan Gruffudd, has been cast as rich SMG's wealthy husband. Thinking about it though, the idea of a guy not knowing that his wife has been replaced by her twin sister is kind of creepy.
I guess after getting a divorce on True Blood things can really go downhill for you. Anna Camp will be staring in the NBC pilot I Hate That I Love You as the lesbian that doesn't get knocked up.
Unable to do as well in booking guest stars as its older brother, CSI: NY is being forced to pander to it's baby boomer demo. The show will have Peter Fonda guest starring as Gary Sinise's old partner. Is this what this show has to resort to for character development?
Ed Begley Jr. has been cast in the NBC pilot Brave New World. The show is about a colonial times theme park, but after watching his reality show I wonder if they just mean Begley's house.
