...because Brett Ratner is co-producing! Just about the strangest combination since James Franco and Anne Hathaway hosted, but I'll bite. A couple car chases and some small fires during the Academy Awards? It would be the best (and most exciting) thing that ever happened to a show that wasn't hosted by Billy Crystal.

MTV has added a new category to the Video Music Awards, titled "Best Video With a Message." The nominees include Lady Gaga's "Born This Way." Sorry, but what was the message of that video? I understand the message of the song...but the video was basically some creature (Gaga?) giving birth, and then a bunch of half-naked people doing dance routines.
Fox has green-lit Seth MacFarlane's Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey, a 13-part docu-series designed to be a successor to Carl Sagan's 1980s PBS series. Not sure how good MacFarlane is going to be at taking something seriously, but we'll have to wait and see.
