Today -- a SyFy cancellation, a Law & Order return, and a TV vet's guest-starring role.
Syfy's Eureka has been cancelled, making its fifth season the last. Not too much of a surprise -- but it does mean those six ordered episodes will (obviously) not be happening. So pour one out for the Sherriff & co.
Some very exciting news for Law & Order fans: Linus Roache will reprise his role as Michael Cutter from the original show this fall on Law & Order: SVU. He will play a bureau chief in the DA's office. I'm actually surprised they haven't done this more frequently with Law & Order stars. We need to get Sam Waterston on SVU!
Scott Wolf will guest-star on the season premiere of NCIS. The role could be recurring, but the network has not yet decided -- of course, Scott is ageless. So they can take all the time they want.
TLC has begun production on a new reality series called Candy Queen, about an LA-based candy and events company. More quality TV from TLC coming your way!
Comedy Central has announced that they will be airing a Weird Al concert special. That is amazing. Crossing my fingers for "The Saga Begins."
Roy Dotrice and Hannah Murray have been cast in Game of Thrones' second season. For those who don't know Hannah Murray, she's Cassie, from the UK version of Skins. Which makes this my favorite bit of casting news ever.
Lisa Edelstein on her House departure (in her first interview since): "It was very sad and very disappointing and a really difficult decision to make." Funny -- sad and disappointing are words we often use to describe House.
