Glee is full steam ahead on the stunt casting.
After news that Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and Chewbacca will all be guest starring on upcoming episodes, Glee is hoping to add one more to the list: Pitbull, who will hopefully play Santana's brother. The show is also beginning to cast Rachel's dads, finally... though by the time we meet them, it'll probably be too little, too late.
Ryan Seacrest, the man who has 54,932,905 different jobs, might add one more to the list: Today Show anchor. According to the Wall Street Journal, NBC execs are courting Seacrest as a replacement if Matt Lauer decides to leave the show next year. If Seacrest is able to pull this off, I'm going to seriously start doubting he's actually human.
Kathy Griffin will guest star on Whitney early next year as Lindsay, Whitney's competition for the job as her friend Roxanne's new assistant, but will unfortunately probably not make this show any more bearable.
Modern Family is getting a bunch of guest stars of their own, too! Phil Hendrie is shooting this week as an unknown role, while Ellen Barkin will guest star as Vera, a tough, legendary real estate broker who just so happens to be Phil's nemesis. Yay for new plotlines!
All My Children's Cameron Mathison will guest star on Desperate Housewives as Bree's latest love interest. Should be interesting, considering her ex, Orson, is slated to return, too. Which man will she humiliate first?
Neve Campbell will star in Sworn to Silence, a Lifetime drama about a former Amish girl who returns to her Amish community as the new chief of police. I have full confidence she would get to the bottom of the Amish gang known for hair-cutting assaults.
Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) and Mindy Kaling are developing an animated comedy about a girls high school volleyball team for NBC. While this normally would sound like yet another terrible NBC decision, it is Mindy Kaling...
In the unlikeliest pairing I could ever imagine, J.J. Abrams and Mark Schwahn (the creator of One Tree Hill) are teaming up for Maine, a drama for The CW about an inn and its staff and guests. I hope Abrams can make The CW's whole pretty people doing boring things theme a little more interesting with, say, a big scary creature that's threatening to eat the inn, but I doubt it.
TNT ordered a pilot for Chelsea General, a medical drama by David E. Kelley based on Sanjay Gupta's upcoming novel Monday Mornings. Finally, a medical show that might have a shred of reality to it.
Residents of Dublin, California were in for quite the shock yesterday after Mythbusters accidentally launched a destructive cannonball several miles, hitting multiple homes and a minivan during the taping of an episode. Unfortunately, the footage will not be aired on television. Well, they can probably count whatever myth that was as busted.
Want to know what New York's hottest club this Christmas is, or how to properly use a human boombox? Then you should probably check out these recommendations from Saturday Night Live's Stefon. If you're not familiar with any hot spots in the upper east side of a dumpster in the lower west side of Chelsea featuring DJ Baby Bok Choy, though, I'd suggest you steer clear of this.
