This week in unnecessarily early news...
ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel will host the network's broadcast of the 64th Emmy Awards in September. He's got six months to avoid pulling an Eddie Murphy.
After only opening this weekend, ABC Family picked up the basic cable rights to The Hunger Games. The movie made enough to be considered the third-highest-grossing opening weekend of all time. Also, check out all of our Hunger Games galleries like this one!
Upgrade! Michelle Borth will join CBS' Hawaii Five-0 as a regular for the third season, after being a recurring guest star. She will continue to play McGarrett's girlfriend, Lt. Catherine Rollins.
Jaime Pressly will co-star in NBC's drama pilot Bad Girls playing Melinda, a sexy prison warden with a bone to pick with every woman that comes in and out of her cellblock. Maybe they should retitle it I Hate All Teenage Felons instead.
Big day for anyone with the last name Burke: Delta Burke will play the loopy middle sister lead in ABC's new comedy Counter Culture about three sisters running a diner together. Meanwhile, Twilight star Billy Burke snagged the lead in NBC's untitled JJ Abrams/Eric Kripke drama about what happens when all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist on earth. If these two shows had a baby, I feel like the product would be an episode of radioactive Roseanne. Actually, that might be kind of fun.
