Constance won't be part of Season 2 of American Horror Story, but Golden Globe winner Jessica Lange is definitely returning. In fact, the show's sophomore year, which will feature an all-new storyline and characters, is being built entirely around Lange, whose new role co-creator Ryan Murphy describes as "opposite-of-Constance." Three of Seasons 2's other stars will be revealed at the AHS panel at PaleyFest this weekend. As long one of them isn't Dylan McDermott, we'll be happy.
After striking out with both Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Mr. Sunshine, Matthew Perry is taking another swing at post-Friends success. The former Mr. Bing will headline a new NBC pilot Go On as a grieving sportscaster who tries to get over his loss through group therapy sessions. Doesn't sound particularly funny, but hey -- neither were Studio 60 or Mr. Sunshine.
Pilot season is in full swing with fresh casting information flowing out of Hollywood on a seemingly hourly basis. Besides the aforementioned Matthew Perry, the latest actors to land new gigs include David Arquette, who is joining the ABC comedy The Smart One opposite Malin Akerman and Portia de Rossi; Elizabeth Perkins, who will play Sarah Chalke's mother in another ABC sitcom, How To Live With Your Parents For the Rest of Your Life; David Krumholtz, who will star alongside Michael Urie in CBS' Partners; and Dane Cook, who landed the lead role on NBC's Next Caller Please. Don't spend that check in one place, folks -- after all, you've gotta wait until May to find out whether you've got a full-time gig.
Having exhausted practically every major metropolis in the continental United States (some more than once), MTV's flagship reality series The Real World is once again headed back into international waters. Season 27 is being filmed in St. Thomas, the capital city of the U.S. Virgin Islands. The territory's tourism commissioner promises that the seven housemates of this edition will have time to participate in plenty of "cultural experiences" throughout the region. If getting drunk and hooking up counts as a cultural experience, than that'll absolutely be true.
Why just watch Game of Thrones when you can live it? HBO is working with a German game developer to design a massively multiplayer online role playing game based on the hit TV (and book) series. Great... now we've got another reason to never leave our apartment.
