Lots of episode orders today, so let's get to it.
So, CBS picked up more episodes of Elementary and Vegas, The CW ordered more Beauty And The Beast and Emily Owens, MD for much less obvious reasons, and Fox is giving a few more episodes to New Girl and Raising Hope (which is probably bad news for Ben and Kate) and, just for fun, ABC handed Shark Tank a few more installments.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar is joining Happy Endings, just in case the Internet doesn't already love that show as it is.
First The Brave Little Toaster, now this: CBS is developing a comedy with The Big Bang Theory's Dave Goetsch called Smells Like Teen Spirit. I would tell you the premise, but it includes the phrases "multibillion-dollar Internet company" and "1990s indie-rock parents," so I'll spare you the depression.
New Girl's Jake Johnson sold a comedy to Fox about underdogs who don't have superpowers but still fight injustice. Sure.
In casting news, Roseanne's Laurie Metcalf has joined Fox's midseason comedy The Goodwin Games, Michael J. Fox is heading back to The Good Wife, 24's Annie Wersching will be on Dallas and Jane Fonda will be on a sitcom that is probably less funny than The Newsroom.
And finally, congratulations and happy dances of sorts are in order to Ellen DeGeneres, who just received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
