Coming soon to FX... Homeland 2: Homeland Harder.
Homeland producers Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff are sticking with what they know best for their next series pitch. The duo has sold FX on a pilot called Tyrant, about the American son of a Middle East dictator, who assumes control of the country after the previous tyrant's death and brings his Westernized family along for the ride. Jazz freakouts will still be involved, right?
Brothers & Sisters alum Sarah Jane Morris has booked a guest star stint on the ABC procedural Body of Proof. She joins such previously announced guest stars as Henry Ian Cusick, Ray Wise and Michael Nouri.
In more fierce casting news, RuPaul Charles will cameo on Happy Endings as an actual character and not just his bewigged alter ego RuPaul. Can we get an amen up in here for that bit of stunt casting?
One more casting item: Gina Torres will stop by Castle later this season for a reunion with her fellow ex-Browncoat, Nathan Fillion. Torres will play a fashion expert/reality show star whose bad behavior onscreen may extend to her personal life as well.
Fired X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has sued the producers of the Fox reality series for her termination prior to the first season. She's asking for $2.3 million, but really she should be paying them that amount as thanks for not having to sit next to Simon Cowell for six months.
Finally, we're continuing to count down the days, hours and minutes until the return of the show we most love to hate-watch... NBC's Smash. Until the series returns on February 5, we'll have to make do with teaser videos like this one. Oh, the delicious awfulness it promises! The only way it could be any
worse better would be for NBC Universal to demand a Les Misérables tie-in where Karen is cast as Fantine and then actually gets consumption and dies.
