If you're just getting hooked on Torchwood in its current Miracle Day incarnation, here's a good way to catch up on all the good stuff you missed...

Torchwood: The Complete UK Series
A spin-off of the long-running British sci-fi series Doctor Who, Torchwood very quickly morphed into its own beast, offering high-stakes storylines, creepy monsters and an engaging cast headed up by the immortal time-traveler, Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman). This box set collects the show's first two seasons, as well as the miniseries, Children of Earth, which boasts a shockingly high body count of popular characters. The last series seemed to mark the end of Torchwood... until it was revived by Starz and moved across the pond for the current ten-episode Miracle Day story arc.
Extras: Commentary tracks on all Season One episodes, deleted scenes and outtakes and behind-the-scenes featurettes.

Hey Dude: Season 1
Travel back in time to 1989, when Nickelodeon debuted their first home-grown, live-action children's show, about a bunch of kids living on a cattle ranch in Arizona. Maybe it was that insanely catchy theme song, maybe it was the lovely Christine Taylor (a.k.a. Mrs. Ben Stiller) or maybe it was because us latchkey kids just didn't have anything better to watch, but the show became a favorite amongst a certain generation of tweens. Of course, if any of them they try to show it to their kids today, they had better be prepared to explain that decade's questionable fashion choices as well as the general lack of cell phones. (For more on Hey Dude, check out our look back.)
Extras: Sorry pardner -- nothing here but an interview with Taylor. We want to know what happened to Brad!

Also on DVD:
These days, young viewers have far more options for televised entertainment, from live-action shows like iCarly to animated series like Young Justice Season One, Vol. 1, a version of the Justice League populated by teen heroes like Robin, Superboy and Kid Flash. This single-disc release collects half of the series' first season. The reboot may have bombed, but the original Melrose Place is apparently still going strong on DVD as Melrose Place: Season Six arrives this week. Only one more season to go, all of you Melrose collectors! Also hitting the six-volume mark is the E! reality series The Girls Next Door: Season Six, in which Playboy founder/professional robe-wearer Hugh Hefner adds a few new Bunnies to his menagerie of much-younger girlfriends.
