Longmire: The Complete First Season
Trying to get in some of the buzz that FX enjoys thanks to Justified, A&E concocted their own grizzled-crimefighter-who-plays-by-his-own-rules regional crime series, this one taking place way out west in Big Sky Country as opposed to down south. And instead of Timothy Olyphant underneath the hero's hat, we've got Robert Taylor as the titular Absakora County sheriff, who is still recovering from the death of his wife, but would prefer to work out his issues on the clock. (Also like Justified, Longmire is based on a series of crime novels, in this case penned by Craig Johnson rather than Elmore Leonard.) Longmire became the ratings hit that A&E hoped for, but creatively it's a blah show, long on atmosphere and short on drama. The show's worst sin? Relegating Battlestar Galactica absurdly charismatic warrior woman Katee Sackhoff to the typical sidekick role. Someone give Sackhoff her own Justified imitation stat.

Doctor Who: Series Seven, Part 2
The seemingly never-ending saga of the Ponds finally ended in the first half of Season 7, clearing the way for new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) to accompany Matt Smith, the Eleventh Doctor, on his journeys through time and space. The companion switch didn't do much to make the series more creatively consistent, however, as the quality of the episodes varied wildly from week to week. Not even the return of Neil Gaiman to the writing staff resulted in a guaranteed home run. Let's just hope that current show runner Steve Moffat is saving up his best ideas for the upcoming 50th anniversary episode.
Extras: Short prequels to some of the epiosdes and a documentary about the Doctor's many companions over the years.

Suits: Season Two
Covert Affairs: Season Three
The intrigue continued to thicken at the New York law firm of Pearson/Hardman in the second season of Suits, as Harvey and fake-lawyer Mike tried to keep their heads above water while their higher-ups engaged in all manner of underhanded and duplicitous (in other words, lawyerly) activities. Pearson/Hardman is almost as much a den of vipers as the CIA, the setting for USA's other hit serial, Covert Affairs, which welcomed 24 vet Sarah Clarke into the fold alongside Piper Perabo. Both shows return this summer for another batch of beach-weather episodes so here's your chance to get up to speed.
Extras: Suits includes deleted scenes, a gag reel, commentary tracks, webisodes and featurettes. Covert Affairs comes with deleted scenes and a prequel.

Red Widow: The Complete First Season
Missing didn't go over so well, but ABC decided to take another run at a British-style short-run drama series with Red Widow, starring Radha Mitchell as the wife of a mob enforcer who has to navigate her own way in the world after her husband is gunned down. Getting in touch with her own gangster roots, Mitchell infiltrates the syndicate she believes may be responsible for his death, while trying to simultaneously keep her unruly brood of children in line. Despite being an all-around stronger series than Missing -- though still far from appointment television -- Widow was left at the altar by disinterested viewers and won't be walking down the aisle again next season. We await to see how ABC will next attempt to imitate the BBC. Hamptons Abbey, perhaps?

Tiny Toon Adventures: Volume 4 collects the final run of episodes from the early '90s after-school cartoon staple. And while we're on the animated nostalgia train, Beetlejuice: The Complete Series
translates Michael Keaton's ghost with the most into the cartoon realm, although the lack of a Day-O moment means the live action movie should still be your first choice of Beetlejuice-related entertainment.
