TWoP 10: Recent Shows That Should Be Rebooted

DC Comics recently announced that they were going to restart their legendary titles with new issue No. 1's, in addition to giving legendary characters a more contemporary look and streamlined histories in order to appeal to potential readers who've been intimidated by decades of convoluted continuity. The news has caused a justifiably huge stir in the comic book blogosphere (as has the parallel announcement of day-and-date digital downloads), but for us, the most interesting question was: could this work for television shows? Here are the current (or recently concluded) series that we think are most in need of a DC-style reboot:

TWoP 10: Things We'll Miss from Recently Cancelled Shows

With another regular television season coming to a close just in time for the Memorial Day weekend, we'd like to hold a memorial of our own for all of the characters and other elements that we'll miss the most from this year's ridiculously robust round of cancelled and concluded shows. Important note, however: This list is just about shows from the 2010-2011 season, so no putting, like, Firefly people or whatever in the comments, please. We know you'll want to, but just try to resist.

TWoP 10: Most Promising Looking New Shows of 2011-12

Now that we've survived the network upfront season and have had a couple of minutes to process the glut of new shows that will be coming in the fall and midseason, we've figured out what we're looking forward to. While there are plenty of freshman series that sound terrible, and a few that seem merely mediocre with the potential to improve, a select handful genuinely impressed us (or, at least their preview clips did). Of course, that doesn't mean that they'll all last a few season - in fact, some of these might be a hard sell - but for now, here's what we think shows the most promise:

TWoP 10: Most Cringe-Inducing Moments of the Idol Finals

This American Idol season is finally winding down, and while we've long since blocked the ridiculous people in the audition rounds, and only vaguely remember the unique spirit of Brett Loewenstern, the majority of the finals are still very fresh in our minds, unfortunately. In honor of the bad times we've all shared together, we managed to narrow down the most despicable things that the judges and finalists had thrust upon us this season.

TWoP 10: Worst Moms on TV This Season

TWoP 10: Worst Moms on TV This Season

It's that time of year when we honor all that mothers do for their children. Though in the case of the television personalities below, being a good mom consists of pimping out your kids or hitting them with an actual hammer. Yes, these are some really special women. So happy Mother's Day and be grateful that these women didn't give birth to you.

TWoP 10: Best Primetime TV Weddings

We've all been inundated with Royal Wedding coverage this week, which only served to make us appreciate TV's greatest (and thankfully scripted) weddings of all time. If nothing else, they didn't inspire weeks of mind-numbing analysis beforehand. But with so many notable nuptials throughout the history of primetime television, some just didn't make the cut for our list of the ten very best. That's right, Jim and Pam, your boating adventure just wasn't memorable enough. If only your ship had sunk...

TWoP 10: TV Couples We're Supposed to Care About -- But Don't

These aren't necessarily the worst couples on TV this season (after all, Jim and Pam are missing from the list), but rather the romantic pairings whose fan followings are most disproportionate to our current interest levels. Granted, we may once been invested in their storylines at one time, but at this point we'd just wish that their respective shows would finally move beyond them.

TWoP 10: Bubble Shows That Shouldn't Be Renewed

It's that time of year when networks are finalizing their fall line-ups and deciding which current shows to keep or cancel. And while we'd like to see underrated procedural Detroit 1-8-7 get another chance, as well as the ridiculous, nonsensical guilty pleasure Off the Map continue, there are a plenty of other "bubble" shows that truly deserve to get their bubbles burst, freeing their casts and producers to seek better luck elsewhere. Here are the ones that most need to be axed, for everyone's sake:

TWoP 10: Things Donald Trump Will Do When He Becomes President

Recent Comedy Central roastee and Celebrity Apprentice host Donald Trump has mentioned his interest in running for president of the United States, and while we laughed that off at first, apparently he's got a shot. According to a recent poll of Republican primary voters, he's currently the second choice to get the nomination. Maybe the American people love that comb-over after all? To prepare ourselves for the impossible coming true, we've looked ahead at Trump's first ten orders of business upon taking the Oval Office.

TWoP 10: Things We Wish Were April Fool's Jokes But Aren't

When we heard about some recent developments in the world of television, we truly thought -- or at least hoped -- that they were actually just early April Fool's Day jokes. Alas, as far as we know, all of these are really happening, or have already occurred, much to our dismay.
