Good

Good Good stars Viggo Mortensen and Jason Isaacs, so it must be some sort of action film about guys beating each other up, or killing people, or something. You know, one of them noble (Viggo), and one of them bad (Jason). That's exactly what would be expected with this casting, but it's entirely incorrect. It's actually, judging by the trailer, another World War II Nazi film (does it seem there's been an overabundance of them lately?).

It seems like sort of a grownup version of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, with two friends trying to maintain their friendship and lives as Hitler and the Nazis come to power. One problem: Viggo joins the Nazi Party (he's sort of forced to, though, which is the movie's way of telling us he wasn't really bad, but was made to be), and Jason is Jewish. Whatever will happen? Will Viggo risk his life and his family's safety to help Jason get out of Germany? Will he get in trouble from the Nazis for continuing to be associated with his Jewish friend? Of course it will be heroic, and something sad and tragic will happen, because it's just that kind of movie. I think I would have preferred a big, bad action flick with Viggo as noble hero and Jason as moustache-twirling villain.
